Sciatica & Pinched Nerve Treatment
Neurology-based care for radiating pain, numbness, and tingling.
Understanding Sciatica
Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which branches from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg. Typically, sciatica affects only one side of your body.
It is often caused by a herniated disk, bone spur on the spine, or narrowing of the spine (spinal stenosis) compressing part of the nerve.
Symptoms
- Pain radiating from lower spine to buttock and leg
- Discomfort that worsens when sitting
- Tingling or numbness in the leg or foot
- Weakness in the affected leg
- A 'pins and needles' sensation
The Neurological Approach
As a Chiropractic Neurologist, Dr. Doroski is highly trained in identifying exactly where the nerve is being compressed. Treatment aims to relieve that pressure.
Through specific spinal adjustments, traction, and physical therapy, we can reduce inflammation around the nerve root and promote natural healing, often helping patients avoid surgery or heavy medications.
